Is it cake? Turn any photo into an AI cake video

Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP of the thing you want to “cake”, up to 10 MB and at least 240 px on the short side.

  2. Sign in and generate

Sign in with Google and click Generate. The button shows how many credits the video costs before you start.

  3. Download and post

Your cake reveal is usually ready in about 1–3 minutes. Download the MP4 or find it later in My creations.

Why try the AI cake effect

  • The trend in one click

The “is it cake?” slice is built in. You don’t need a baker, a real knife or a prompt; you only pick the photo.

  • Made for short videos

You get a 5-second 720p MP4 that keeps the shape of your photo. Use a vertical photo for Reels, Shorts and TikTok.

  • Free credits to start

New accounts get free credits. If a video fails or takes too long, the credits are refunded automatically.

Which photos make the best cake reveal

The effect looks most convincing with everyday objects that sit on a surface: sneakers, a coffee cup, a book, a phone, a toy or a product you sell. Shoot the object from the front or at a slight angle, fill most of the frame with it and keep the background simple, like a kitchen counter or a plain table.

Photos with one clear object give the most reliable slice. Busy scenes with many things, or objects that are very small in the frame, can confuse the knife about what to cut. Avoid photos of people and animals; this effect is made for objects. If you like the idea but want fruit instead of sponge, try our fruit-cutting effect.

What the video looks like

A plain steel knife comes down and slices through the main object. As it opens, you see sponge layers and cream filling where you expected plastic, leather or glass. The camera stays close, with soft studio light, so it plays like the cake videos you’ve seen online. The video is silent, so add a sound in your app before posting.

Results vary, even from the same photo: sometimes the cut is clean, sometimes the cake looks less real. If the first one isn’t right, generate again or try a sharper photo. Videos made with free credits carry a small AI watermark in the corner; videos made with paid credits have none.
