Just the sound, a fraction of the size
A video file carries every frame of the picture as well as the soundtrack. When you only need the audio — a talk, a song you recorded, a voice memo filmed on your phone — keeping just the sound makes the file far smaller and easier to play, share or edit.

How to convert a video to MP3
Choose a file
Drop a video onto the box above, click to pick one, or paste it. Audio files such as WAV or M4A work too.
Pick the audio quality
192 kbps sounds great for most uses. Choose 320 kbps for music or 128 kbps for the smallest file.
Convert and download
Click Convert to MP3. The audio is extracted in seconds, and you can listen to it before you download.
Why use this MP3 converter
Private by design
Your video is converted inside your browser and is never uploaded, so recordings of family, meetings or classes stay private.
Free, with no watermark
No account, no limits and no audio tags or jingles added. You get a clean MP3 of your own file.
Works on any device
Convert on a computer, tablet or phone with a modern browser. There is no app to install and nothing to update.
Plays on everything
MP3 is the most widely supported audio format: it plays in every music app, car stereo, podcast editor and smart speaker.
Which audio quality should I choose?
192 kbps is the default and a good balance: speech and most music sound clear, and an hour of audio is about 86 MB. Pick 320 kbps, the highest MP3 quality, when the soundtrack is music you care about. Pick 128 kbps for lectures, interviews and voice notes, where a smaller file matters more than fine detail.
Converting cannot add quality that was not in the original. If the video was recorded with a quiet or muffled microphone, the MP3 will sound the same way, so there is no benefit in choosing a higher bitrate than the source.
What people use it for
Save a talk or sermon you filmed so you can listen to it on a walk. Keep the soundtrack of a school performance or a family celebration. Turn a screen recording of a meeting into an audio file for your notes, or pull a voice-over out of a clip so you can reuse it in an editing app.
